The Master of Science in Sustainability (MSS) is a fully online, nationally accredited program that prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to effectively navigate through the complexities of sustainable issues taking into account, ecological, social, economic, political, and communication factors. This program matchlessly readies students with a wideranging set of capabilities that will allow them to become proficient problem solvers and competent change agents - skills valued in the fast-paced and every changing arenas of business, industry, government and community.

The MSS program participates in Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP). Students from participating WRGP states will be charged the same tuition rate that is charged to resident students without additional support from the enrolling student’s home state. Participating states include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Students from WRGP states are eligible to apply for a limited number of SD resident tuition rates through the WRGP. To be considered for the resident tuition rate, you will
need to complete the WRGP Application Form found on the Sustainability Program website. The form with all supporting documentation must be submitted to Admissions by the following deadlines:
