Environmental Education

Department Website www.sou.edu/ee

The Master of Science in Environmental Education program at Southern Oregon University, a distinguished university program accredited by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), produces leaders in the field of environmental education. The program provides students an education in the natural sciences combined with a foundation in sound educational practices and the skills and experiences unique to the growing field of environmental and sustainability education. Beyond creating well-trained environmental educators, the program focuses on creating leaders. By having each cohort of students design, budget, market, implement, and assess both a day program and a residential program, our graduates prepare to step into leadership roles in a wide variety of settings where environmental education is offered, including nature centers, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and school classrooms. There are no special admissions requirements or deadlines for WRGP applicants.
