Department Website www.ohsu.edu/son

The OHSU School of Nursing Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is a practice-based doctoral program that educates nurses in advanced nursing practice and to provide leadership in clinical innovation and inquiry. The clinically focused DNP prepares advanced practice clinicians, who are able to analyze ethical and equity concerns and systems and policy issues critically, in order to optimize health outcomes. The health systems focused DNP prepares organizational leaders to engage in contextual and systemic analysis of clinical phenomena in order to optimize the delivery of high quality care. DNP graduates are prepared to identify, develop, and evaluate solutions to health care's most troubling challenges. Upon completion of required coursework, students complete a clinical residency and a DNP project that evaluates and applies evidence to improve practice and systems outcomes. Post-masters and post-baccalaureate options are available. The post-masters DNP program is available to students at a distance using remote educational technologies and on-campus intensives.
