The master of science in mathematics, under the mathematics education option (MSMME), provides a unique opportunity for high school teachers to deepen their understanding of mathematics and statistics, appropriate for the level at which they teach.  The MSMME program requires 30 semester hours of coursework.  The program of study includes required coursework in fundamental areas of high school mathematics content:  alegebra, analysis (calculus), geometry, and statistics.  Elective courses offer furthur study in number theory, discrete mathematics, and mathematical modeling, as well as mathematics education courses in curriculum, assessment, standards, and learning theory.  Program highlights include action research, school-based "living laboratory" and reflective portfolios.
