Haub School of Environment & Natural Resources

Department Website www.uwyo.edu/haub

The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources advances the understanding and resolution of complex environmental and natural resources challenges in a scenic Rocky Mountain Valley, at an institution named a 2011 "Best College in the West." Notable for small class sizes and innovative pedagogy, the Haub School has a reputation for student-centered education surrounding the human, policy, legal, and scientific elements of today's most complex environmental and natural resource questions.

Haub School graduate students earn a major, minor or joint master's degree in Environment and Natural Resources, in addition to a primary degree in any other department at the University of Wyoming. Our graduate academic programs include: the master's level major or minor; the doctoral minor; and the MA (only in conjunction with a UW law degree). The School welcomes students from all UW programs. Entrance requirements vary by primary degree program. Interested students should contact the Associate Director of the Haub School for specific information regarding admission and course requirements.

We emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving, collaborative process, and multi-perspective analysis of natural resource issues. The Haub School classroom is a dynamic place, where unique collections of people, representing a range of academic backgrounds, gather for small and lively discussions.

The Haub School also includes the William D. Ruckleshaus Institute, which upports stakeholder-driven solutions to environmental challenges by communicating relevant research and promoting collaborative decision making. The School represents one of five academic areas of distinction at UW.
