Department Website

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Wyoming’s Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing prepares BSN and master’s prepared nurses for advanced practice roles as family nurse practitioners (FNPs) and family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (FPMHNPs). The program is uniquely deigned to prepare graduates for innovative, integrative primary and mental health care in rural communities with an emphasis on evidence-based health behavior change. The program is distance accessible and uses a combination of online and intensive campus sessions, including weekly synchronous webinars. In addition, students are required to do clinical rotations in Wyoming, north central Colorado, or southern Montana.
