In the MA and PhD degrees in Psychology offered by New Mexico State University (NMSU) we emphasize development of research expertise in engineering, cognitive, or social psychology. We pride ourselves in the personal attention and customized training we offer our graduate students. Our program uses an apprenticeship model where students learn how to conduct original research by collaborating closely with their advisor. Thus, a close match between the research interests of the student and his/her advisor is a critical factor in our admission decisions.

Courses are offered in history and systems, engineering, cognitive, perception, learning, biopsychology, cognitive neuroscience, developmental, and social as well as computer methods and quantitative methods.
