The Master in Financial Mathematics Program prepares students for careers in the financial industry including banks, insurance companies, investment and securities firms. The program provides students with a solid background in stochastic modeling complemented by studies in financial management and mathematical approaches to problems originating directly from the financial industry. Financial Mathematicians are expected to work in financial product development and pricing, risk management, portfolio management. The program runs on a two-year cycle beginning in Fall semesters of even numbered years.

In addition to satisfying general admission criteria of NMSU’s Graduate School, applicants should have successfully completed undergraduate coursework in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics and Economics or Finance. Some facility with a programming in C, C++, S-PLUS or SAS is also recommended.
