The Public Economics concentration in the Department of Economics at the University of New Mexico trains MA and PhD students to conduct analysis on health-related public policy issues.

Students who choose a concentration in Public Economics are prepared for jobs in academia, government, consulting, and non-profits. Students can focus on traditional health economics or study health issues in the context of departmental strengths in environmental and natural resources and development. Admission requirements include: a recent GRE; prepatory courses in economics, math, and statistics; a research statement identifying your research interests; three letters of reference.
