This interdisciplinary doctoral program studies the relationship between linguistics and education. It provides students with training in child language, bilingualism, literacy, and TESOL (teachers of English to speakers of other languages); language maintenance and revitalization (with a particular focus on indigenous languages), as well as the linguistics of signed languages. Study in these areas is strengthened by the program.
