The Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs grants the Masters degree in Sociology. The program is designed to prepare graduate students for Ph.D. programs in Sociology as well as those students interested in entering the workforce in the non-profit sector, community college instruction, human resources, community action organizations, and social service organizations.

Our main areas of specialization coalesce around the study of diversity from an intersectional perspective - considering how the social divisions of race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class and disability function simultaneously. Additional areas of faculty expertise include media/cultural studies, family, deviance, criminology; religion, homelessness and social movements.

We also offer students the opportunity to earn three different graduate certificates. Each certificate requires 12 credit hours.
