The Folklore Program at Utah State University offers a Master's Degree in American Studies with a specialization in folklore studies. The Folklore Program offers training in ethnographic fieldwork methods, cultural theory, and cultural documentation to produce competent, caring culture brokers. The Folklore Program is particularly strong in areas of legend, the supernatural, digital folklore, folklore and landscape, and festivity. Students also have extensive opportunities to obtain archiving skills. Faculty affiliated with the program are well known in their fields, have a strong program of research, and are committed to student learning. Students in the Folklore Program receive training as writing instructors; regularly undertake internships; and have many opportunities to work closely with the Fife Folklore Archives.
