Watershed Science MS and PhD degrees are administered through the Department of Watershed Sciences in the Quinney College of Natural Resources. Faculty in the Wildlife Sciences Dept., the Environment and Society Dept., and other areas also participate in the degree program. Since 1974, the program has trained students in the principles of hydrology, water quality, and watershed management that can be applied to both forest and rangeland ecosystems. Faculty have expertise in hydrology; watershed management; fluvial and hillslope geomorphology; aquatic, riparian, and wetland ecology; restoration ecology; biogeochemistry; remote sensing; geographic information systems; statistical analyses; and modeling. They share a concern about the flow of water through landscape and the resources that depend on these waters.
