The Master of Management Information Systems (MMIS) degree at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business is a project-based, hands-on program that provides a unique blend of technical knowledge and business acumen, with an emphasis in database management, analytics, and business intelligence (BI). It has a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) designation in database and analytics. The program prepares students for careers in web analytics, business intelligence, database administration, web development, and IT consulting. MIS is noted as one of the 15 most valuable areas of study, including one of the 20 best paying jobs for women. There is a critical shortage of people with MIS skills, both in the Western U.S. and around the world. The 33-credit program is designed for students with undergraduate degrees in diverse areas, including MIS, business, social sciences, engineering, and liberal and fine arts. It consists of a 21-credit hour core, 9-credits of elective courses, and a 3-credit internship that permits focus on professional interests.
