The Department of Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences (ITLS) at Utah State University invites applications for its PhD and full range of Master’s degrees including a K-12 oriented Master of Education, a professional oriented Master of Learning Technologies and Instructional Design, and research oriented Master of Science degree. The department is nationally ranked for quality of graduate education (13th in the Nation by US News and World Reports in 2015) and was described in the 2016 Educational Media and Technology Yearbook as the top program for externally funded research. Graduates are prepared for a range of positions in K-12, business and industry instructional designers, higher education faculty support and some work as faculty in the academy. ITLS faculty areas of specialization include problem-centered instruction, gaming and mobile learning, learning through Making, STEM education, instructional and interface design, learning analytics, and engaging underserved populations through technology.
