Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing. The Nursing PhD program prepares nurses to make substantial contributions to nursing theory, scholarship, research, and practice. The goal is preparation of researchers in a defined area of nursing inquiry. The PhD program accepts students from around the globe. Courses are offered utilizing internet-based synchronous videoconferencing technology. Students are expected to attend and participate in all scheduled synchronous videoconferencing classes, on-campus week-long immersions, and specified research conferences. The amount of time required to complete the program is based on the student.
