Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Department Website www.nursing.utah.edu

This Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner track is dedicated to educating Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners (WHNP) who will meet the healthcare needs of geographically and ethnically diverse populations. WHNP’s provide primary health care to women across the lifespan, including adolescent, gynecologic and family planning services, and care to women after menopause. A career as a WHNP is rewarding and challenging! As a WHNP your career options include independent full scope practice working in a variety of settings, such as outpatient women’s healthcare clinics, or joining practices owned or operated by other CNMs and/or physicians. Many CNMs also choose to share their passion and knowledge by becoming involved in the education of WHNP students, either as clinical preceptors or as classroom instructors. It is an exciting time to become a WHNP. Graduates from our WHNP program find positions locally and across the country and world.
