The Colorado School of Public Health is an academic collaboration among three Colorado public universities: the University of Colorado Denver, Colorado State University, and University of Northern Colorado. The Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics and the Doctorate (PhD) in Biostatistics are offered at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

The MS program in Biostatistics exposes students to a wide variety of studies and research interests, including longitudinal data, statistical genetics and genomics, clinical trials, infectious disease, and cancer research.

The program targets students with strong skills and training in mathematics with the interest to apply math in health care and biological settings. Students pursuing the MS look forward to rewarding careers in academia, research, public health and private industry. Potential positions include analysis and design of health studies, clinical trials, drug development, and public health studies.

The PhD program in Biostatistics prepares students for advanced study and research in biostatistics. The program targets students with strong skills and training in mathematics and statistics who are interested in applications in health care and biological settings.

PhD Biostatisticians typically function as independent investigators, or as key collaborators or co-investigators along with researchers in other areas, and take the lead in designing studies and analyses. Many continue to teach and carry out research developing new statistical methods.

Areas of faculty research include analysis of longitudinal data, clinical trials, statistical methods in genetics and genomics, causal modeling, treatment of missing data and imputation, and power and sample size analysis.
