This program prepares nurses to practice as informatics specialists. The curriculum addresses the growing need for professionals to meet the challenges of information and communication technologies in health care. Students take core courses in decision support, semantic representation, information systems life cycle and select from specialty courses such as database management systems, e-health, human computer interaction design principles and knowledge management. The program provides a foundation for career paths in health care informatics leadership and prepares lifelong learners.
