The Master of Science in Historic Preservation (MSHP) is a professionally certified 45 credit hour program emphasizing professional instruction and project-based experiential learning. It is designed to accommodate the background and needs of both those students new to the field and those with substantial experience. Advanced standing may be available for students with advanced degrees in allied design and history fields. It can usually be completed in 12 to 18 months. This course of study is for students seeking training in spatial, technical and design aspects of historic preservation; it encompasses architecture, cultural landscapes, preservation, planning, building technology, project management, documentation, interpretation and representation.
