The PhD program in Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) is a multidisciplinary program that is designed to provide research and training in both computer science and information systems. The program supports two main tracks of studies: computer science (CS track) offered through the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and information systems (IS track) offered through School of Business. The final PhD degree is awarded from College of Engineering for CS-track and from School of Business for IS track graduates.

In addition to basic research in computer science and in information systems, the program supports multidisciplinary research in collaboration with research centers and researchers from variety of disciplines such as School of Medicine (at UCD, Anschutz), Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, all engineering disciplines, Economics, Health, and Education. Graduates of this program are employed in industry, business, and academia.
