The Geochemistry programs are interdisciplinary programs, emphasizing research at the intersection of the geological and chemical sciences. Faculty, with specialties in both fundamental and applied research, provide expertise in areas including experimental, theoretical, and analytical low- and high-temperature geochemistry; aqueous, environmental, and isotope geochemistry; environmental microbiology; mineralogy; petrochemistry; and geochemistry applied to the genesis of, and exploration for, metals, hydrocarbons and geothermal resources.
