Ecology of the Northern Great Plains

This program is designed to prepare students for academic teaching and research, government service, and research and opportunities in industry. The department offers graduate work in the following areas: ecology, behavior, genetics, physiology, fisheries and wildlife, and systematics. The fields of evolution and ecology are strongly represented within the department. Faculty conduct research in molecular, quantitative and population genetics, systematics, biogeography, evolution of plant reproductive systems, physiological and behavioral ecology, spatial population ecology, ecosystem ecology, and conservation and restoration ecology. The department provides a strong curriculum, modern facilities, and cutting-edge equipment to ensure broad training and marketability within this field.
