The Masters of Arts program in History at Arizona State University provides students with the professional skills needed for advanced research, writing and teaching, as well as the opportunity to prepare for a career in public history. With more than 30 members, the history faculty features award-winning scholar-teachers that cover a broad range of geographic, temporal, and thematic interests, including North American History, the history of the American West, Native American history, environmental history, borderlands history, global/comparative history, and public history. M.A. degrees can be obtained through in-person classes as well as through our fully online program. Students must complete 30 credit hours, which typically consists of 10 courses completed over a roughly 2-year period.
