The Master of Public Administration program prepares students for careers in public service and enhances the skills and leadership abilities of professionals already working in the public and nonprofit sectors. The program emphasizes practical management as well as leadership skills to produce well-rounded and broadly trained administrators. Students will explore theory and practice of public administration, as well as gain core competencies in ethical management, budgeting, human resource management, policy analysis, research design, and oral and written presentation. The affiliation with the Applied Indigenous Studies program and faculty expertise in Tribal governance make NAU the premier MPA program for students wishing to start or advance a career in Tribal government.
