The Master of Science in Mathematics Education degree is a 37 hour program of study specifically designed to emphasize the connections between 7th-16th grade mathematics content, effective pedagogy, and reflective practice. All courses in the program are offered online (though one course has a collaborative face-to-face component). Rural or out-of-state applicants are encouraged to discuss the unique requirements of this course in advance of program application. All students must satisfactorily complete a culminating written portfolio component and an on-campus (NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus) oral comprehensive exam in order to graduate from the program. Applications are reviewed monthly through a rolling admissions process.
