Music Suzuki Pedagogy (Violin)

Students completing the Master of Music in Suzuki Pedagogy (Violin) will examine the Suzuki philosophy and apply its principles in teaching beginning violin. Suzuki pedagogy graduate students will acquire an understanding of childhood development in relation to teaching young violin students, will gain an appreciation for the role of parents in their children’s music education, will demonstrate foundation string techniques in group and individual instructional settings, and will model musicality to violin students in all levels of the Suzuki repertoire.
