Teaching & Teacher Education, specialization in teaching Mexican Americans students

Department Website

The Ph.D. in Teaching & Teacher Education with the specialization in teaching Mexican American students is aimed at producing university faculty who can teach preK-12 teachers about effective teaching for Mexican American students from a holistic perspective that includes content areas such as mathematics, science, and technology. Language learning is a critical need for many Mexican American students, but they have needs that go beyond language. Teachers and the higher education faculty who teach them must be prepared to teach Mexican American children the full range of curriculum.
